Style to Move Jeep Forward

If Sergio Marchionne were taking time out from running an automobile empire to record a rap tune, he might begin with the phrase “haters gonna hate”. I say this because he is about to blow up the Jeep brand design aesthetic. It is not as though the traditional seven-slot grill is gone, but it is bent – some may say melted. The lights are still there, but they are pinched on top; with auxiliary lights on the bottom riffing on the juke’s setup.

The Liberty nameplate looks like it is being mothb…

Redesigned 2014 Ford Transit Connect van keeps the utility, adds style

More stylish than your average plumber’s van, the redesigned Transit Connect gets a smoother, less upright look than the boxy small cargo van it replaces, with a front-end treatment reminiscent of the Focus and Fiesta small cars.

The more car-like design continues inside, with promised better fit and finish, more technology, and new driver-assistance features.

The redesigned Transit Connect goes on sale in Europe and the United States in late 2013.

Developed for markets around the world, it will be…

Jeep J-12 Concept Driven: This Sweet One-Off Mixes Ability with Retro Style

When all else fails, mine your past. At times, this seems to be the only strategy Chrysler knows how to follow anymore. But for all the Chargers, Challengers, and Darts trading on their namesakes’ legacies, the Jeep division’s products have arguably walked the straightest path from the brand’s inception to its current showroom offerings. Take the Wrangler, for instance: ladder frame, stick axles, and coil springs. You can find more-complex riding lawnmowers. (more…)

2013 Volvo XC60 Inscription Adds Luxury, Style

Late last year, Volvo introduced the 2013 C70 Inscription package. For about $3900, the package added exclusivity and upped the luxe quotient on the C70. We checked the C70 out for a brief bit while in Arizona in February and loved the exterior paint in particular. After a good reception with the C70 Inscription, Volvo is expanding the trim-level to its best-selling product, the XC60 crossover.
Over 100,000 units were delivered in 2011, and Volvo apparently can’t build enough of them to satiat…
