‘MORE POWER, PERFORMANCE, AND LUXURY’
I love the all-new 2012 Dodge Charger SRT8, the perfect family sedan for enthusiasts who need a larger sedan but also love to drive a real supercar when alone and driving on the backroads. This newly refined Charger SRT8 has a dual personality with more power and performance mixed with new levels of luxury and infotainment.
The all-new Charger STR8 is new on the outside, inside and under the skin. This includes a new 6.4 liter HEMI VVT V8 engine that deliv…

It’s dog eat dog in the midsize sedan sector, but Honda’s best-selling Accord is likely to remain one of the big dogs, says Ron Amadon.

For the 2013 model year, the Legacy gets a number of updates like redesigned front styling with new grille, headlights and bumper cover. Underneath, the midsize sedan gets chassis enhancements for a smoother, quieter ride and improved agility. And the new Legacy features a new driver-assist system that adds an extra level of safety never offered on the Japanese sedan before.
This 2013 Subaru Legacy 3.6R Limited tester ($28,895) came with a number of optional features. The Audio/navigation sytsem ($3,…

The BMW 3-series. She is the Gold Standard. The sport sedan against which all others are judged against. The rules of entry level sport sedans are written by BMW, and even its competitors concede to that fact. And when a new 3-series arrives, well, it is big news. And for 2012, a new 3-series four door sedan has arrived. The Garage had patiently waited for months to get access to this car, as we were so impressed with the last generation 335i convertible we reviewed last year.
No one denies the 3-series…

In a country that really pioneered the bigger is better mantra, mini cars like the 2012 Fiat 500 can be a tough sell. The MINI has been one of the exceptions, with a lineup of models that has proliferated over its 10 year BMW-owned history in the United States.
Every once in a while a car will come along that captures people’s imaginations. They come in different shapes and sizes, and one of them in Europe has undoubtedly been Fiat’s little 500. After experiencing European success, the 5…

Ever heard about the Daihatsu Terios? It was born in 1997 and it is sold in India as the Premier RiO. No, not the second generation model, but the first generation model is being sold in India. The rights of the first generation Terios were sold to China’s Zoyte in 2006. Premier (one of the oldest automobile companies in India) imports CKD kits from China and assembles the Terios. I had a chance to drive this car. All I can tell you: This 15 year old does show its age. Premier positions the RiO as…

Pretty much every automaker selling cars in the US makes a four-cylinder sedan. That said, the majority of those sedans are truly nothing special. The common Camry/Accord/Sonata/Fusion/Altima genre doesn’t tend to inspire much excitement. Of course, most of those also tend to be front-wheel drive commuter cars.
For 2012, BMW is backing up its “Efficient Dynamics” tagline by bringing four-cylinder power to its 3 Series (and 5 Series) sedans. Whereas last year’s 328i was powered by an…

Kia’s loaded Optima SX is a perfect example of the Korean manufacturer’s penchant for high quality, eye-catching exterior styling, snazzy interiors and lots of standard equipment, all at a highly competitive price, says Ron Amadon.

The Nissan Juke has been a polarizing vehicle ever since it launched, and unless Nissan changes things up, it will remain that way. For most of its history in the United States, the small car segment was pretty much devoid of style. Expressions of design and standout features were left for more expensive (usually luxury) segments further above. With a new generation of buyers coming up that doesn’t regard being small as inferior, manufacturers are looking to reach these demographics with more s…

This is now my third attempt at writing a review of the 2012 Cadillac Escalade AWD Premium Collection. The first two attempts started on the wrong foot, with me harping about the ridiculous price ($76,215 as tested, including destination) and how inefficent it is (from both space and consumption points of view). But somebody is buying new Escalades, so even if this big boy is not my cup of tea, there is still plenty to like about it.
The Escalade has the distinction of being the most expensive…
