Cadillac recalls 2010-2011 SRX vehicles for transmission issues

The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration has announced a recall of 2010-2011 Cadillac SRX sport-utility vehicles for improperly installed transmission shift cables. The problem, which affects 8,789 SRX models, may prevent drivers from shifting the Cadillac SUV into or out of “Park” and possibly cause a collision.

General Motors said that it is recalling certain model year 2012 Cadillac CTS models built from Oct. 21, 2011 through Oct. 26, 2011. The National Highway Traffic and Safety Administration said that the models produced during that time period may have a condition in which the power vacuum brake boost pushrod retention may not be torqued to proper specification.
