Honda Shows You How To Build A World Challenge Race Car: Video

Let’s get this out of the way up front: while we were huge fans of the last generation Honda Civic Si, we simply can’t warm up to the latest generation, now fitted with the 2.4-liter four from the Acura TSX. While we’re sure the new generation will prove to be plenty reliable, there was a magic in the previous generation car that’s simply lacking in the new one. The 2.0-liter Civic Si simply begged to be driven hard, while the new car just seems to put up with it. We always hated giving the key…

Past successes at Route 66 have Enders anxious to start this year’s race

Trackday Diaries: I can tell you how to win a Lemons race, but you won’t listen.

Click here to view the embedded video.
The inimitable Ross Bentley likes to say that every driver, at every level of wheel-to-wheel competition, is a team leader. It follows, therefore, that auto racing is a team sport. In any team sport, a good system beats a great talent at least nine times out of ten, usually more. Michael Schumacher won because he built great teams, not because he could do something behind the wheel that others couldn’t. The same is true of Jimmie Johnson in NASCAR, or of the A…

Road course specialists give Road America race international flavor

The NASCAR Nationwide Series heads to Elkhart Lake, Wis., this weekend for Saturday’s running of the Sargento 200 at Road America. With a trip to a road course, road course ringers come out of the woodwork, so to speak, as several teams turn to road course specialists to up their positions in the championship owner points standings or simply increase their chances of a race win.

These road course ringers will give the series somewhat of an international flair this weekend. The Brazilian duo of Nelson P…

LEMANS: Toyota runs out of steam as race approaches half-distance

The Toyota TS030 Hybrid’s race debut has come to an end with the retirement of the #7 car from the Le Mans 24 Hours due to engine trouble. The team’s challenge for the lead had fizzled out several hours earlier, after contact with the Nissan DeltaWing and a lengthy stay in the garage, but it will now play no further part in the race.

Elsewhere, Anthony Davidson has confirmed on Twitter that he’s suffered a broken back as a result of the #8 car’s massive crash at Mulsanne corner, bringing the curtain dow…

NASCAR – Aric Almirola Leads the Field for NASCAR’s Longest Race of the Year.

Aric Almirola accepting the Coor Light Pole award for setting the pace at the Coca ~ Cola 600 in Charlotte.
It’s a grueling 600 miles of racing.  A marathon of endurance that starts in the heat of the day and finishes under the lights at night.  A true test of both driver and crew chief as the driver holds on to his car, that hopefully his crew chief has made the right changes on throughout the day to keep it under him, and that together they have kept it together to be in the right place at the …
