Report: Next generation Lincoln Navigator to drop V8 for EcoBoost V6, Expedition to retain V8

Hey, you know Ford’s T1 SUVs? Yea, the gynormous three-ton utilitarian ‘Murikan-tastic SUVs, the Ford Expedition and sister Lincoln Navigator? Yup, they’re still around despite the market’s focus on fuel-efficient crossover SUVs.
MotorTrend reports that Lincoln’s global director, Matt VanDyke, has said that the Navigator will be getting a redesign, which means equipping it with Ford’s 3.5L EcoBoost V6—the same one seeing duty in the current Ford F150—to curtail woes over fuel efficiency a…

Nissan Confirms GT-R NISMO Being Developed, Will Arrive Next Year

The Nissan GT-R has been on a constant upswing in terms of power and performance—as illustrated by this nifty chart—and that was long before Nissan unveiled the Track Edition at the Chicago auto show in February. It seems rather fitting, then, that Nissan CEO Carlos Ghosn would declare, “It would be unthinkable for us to develop a range of NISMO road cars without including the GT-R.” Who are we to argue with Carlos Ghosn? What followed was a confirmation from Nissan that the GT-R would, …

New BMW 4-Series Coupe Spied Parked Right Next to Audi A5 Coupe

We can't say with certainty if BMW engineers went out for lunch with their Audi counterparts, if they were the ones driving the A5 Coupe or if the Ingolstadt's model just happened to be in this parking lot, but it sure makes for an interesting matchup seeing it standing right next to the new 4-Series Coupe in these fresh spy shots.  This is the first time that we have captured a prototype of the E92 3-Series Coupe's successor after BMW premiered the 4-Series Concept in Detroit last month. …

What is Mazda’s Next Sports Car?

After dropping the RX-8 out of production, Mazda has not yet come up with a good replacement.  They have great looking concepts floating around, but none have made it to production yet.  Sure you still can buy the MX-5, but that is more of a sporty weekend cruiser, it is unassuming and good looking.  They need a car that stands out against the new RWD sports cars, such as the Nissan 370Z, the revamped Audi TT and the fantastic Scion FR-S and Subaru BRZ.  The last concept car that made it out to the…

Toyota’s Furia Concept Hints At The Next Corolla

Toyota’s Furia Concept
The Toyota Corolla doesn’t offer much of interest to driving enthusiasts, but there’s no denying the fact that Toyota sells them by the boatload. Why it’s still among the best selling cars in the United States is something of a mystery, since there are plenty of compact cars on the market today that offer up better fuel economy, more style and more amenities for the same kind of money. If you need further proof, consider this: the current Toyota Corolla comes with the b…

2013 Detroit: Next BMW 3 Series coupe becomes 4 Series

At the Detroit Auto Show this week BMW showed the next-generation 3 Series-based coupe. Although officially just a concept, this is the car that apart from the door handles, side mirrors and rear apron will replace the 3 Series coupe in late fall 2013.

Much as the 6 Series became the coupe/convertible of the 5 Series, from now on the 4 Series will be the coupe and convertible of the 3 Series. Although components and powertrains are shared with the 3 Series sedan, the coupe is lower and has a wider tra…
