German supercar manufacturer, Porsche tuner, and restorer Ruf Automobile GmbH arrived in Geneva with plenty of heavily modified Porsches including a Boxster with 911 muscle. The automaker made news with the announcement of an investment and cooperative agreement signed with investment group GENII Capital with that group’s founding partner Gerard Lopez — owner of the [...]

The race to the post office has become a different matter as of late. The elimination of Saturday mail delivery in the United States signifies a change in culture where messages, we were years ago content to arrive in several days, can be shared in minutes. Though some people will be their best not to accept unwanted progress, it is reasonable to eventually accept and even celebrate what we have gained from that past. During the same time the United States Postal Service adjusts to the …

Two nostalgic groups have finally banded together: The U.S. Postal Service and muscle cars. As NASCAR prepares to kick off another season down in Daytona, Fla., the post office used seven-time NASCAR champ Richard Petty to unveil the five muscle cars being honored. Small and big blocks were well represented in the collection of cars [...]

Every shoot brings with it a special set of circumstances. For the March 2013 issue of Hemmings Muscle Machines, I was shooting not one but two cars, owned by a single owner who was reluctant to drive ‘em. This is not a criticism; the money he sunk into each of his Camaros is more than just about any house I’ve ever lived in, and if I was in his shoes, I wouldn’t risk a chip or a scratch either. But this meant that my dream shot of the two cars in motion together …

Jimi Day’s AMXcess
If we asked you to name all the popular muscle cars of the late 1960s, we’re sure you’d hit on all the obvious choices. More obscure, however, are cars from now-defunct manufacturers, like American Motors.
Its Javelin was the automaker’s answer to the Mustang and Camaro, and atop the AMC performance pyramid sat the AMC AMX, which was a Javelin that went all-in, perfoamnce-wise. If you think of it as the AMC equivalent of a Camaro Z/28 or a Mustang Mach One, you wouldn̵…

Dan Zuccaro and his 1949 Dodge Wayfarer
When you think of grand touring cars, a 1949 Dodge Wayfarer probably doesn’t come to mind. In fact, hot rods and GT cars are generally two different animals: GT cars are all about long-distance comfort at high speeds, while hot rods are all about style and speed from stop light to stop light. If these sets ever intersected, Dan Zuccaro’s 1949 Dodge Wayfarer would be in that small area.
At first glance, the Wayfarer looks to big and heavy to be nimble, but the…

Muscle Milk Pickett Racing continued their hot streak at the Canadian Tire Motorsport Park on Saturday by scoring their third consecutive pole position at the track formerly known as Mosport International Raceway.
As they did last season and the one before that, the Muscle Milk squad led every on-track session they took part in leading up to qualifying and once again came out on top, this time by more than two seconds over the second place Dyson Racing car.
Klaus Graf who was on qualifying duty didn’t …

Abarth has been Fiat’s racing division for decades. And now it’s the little 500′s turn to get souped up and dressed to perform with the classic scorpion badge proudly displayed on its nose. We borrowed a top-of-the-line $23,500 Gucci spec Abarth from Chrysler (Fiat’s new beachhead in North America) for a fee to check it out.
We’ve already tested two versions of the 500 and while the car has its fair share of flaws such as an awkward driving position, it’s also full of charm. The Abarth version comes …
