2013 Honda CR-Z Facelift Gains Minor Cosmetic Updates and More Powerful Engine

We were right to suspect that the presentation date of the updated CR-Z on Honda's Japanese website was related to the Paris Motor Show as the automaker confirmed the news today while also releasing a full front picture and some initial details surrounding the facelift. From the photo, the only change we see is the simplified front grille that drops the thr…

More Pictures From The Chengdu Motor Show. Some NSFW, But Thou Shallt Not Work On Sunday

We continue our coverage of the 15th Chengdu Motor Show, brought to you courtesy of China coverer extraordinaire Tycho de Feyter of Carnewschina.
“The BMW M6 Coupe, decked out in China’s national color,  was launched today on the China auto market during the Chengdu Auto Show. There is only one, priced at a rather sick 2.33 million yuan, or 367.000 USD. Not cheap indeed and most of da money goes directly to the Chinese tax office. Big engined cars are taxed up to 40% of value in China. But no matte…

Mazda Boss Reveals More About Rotary Range Extender

The rotary engine and Mazda have had a tumultuus, on-and-off relationship that rivals an Old Hollywood marriage. Market conditions and government regulations have made mass production of the rotary a constant challenge, and the death of the Mazda RX-8 looked like the final nail in the Wankel’s coffin.

It turns out that Mazda is not only reviving the rotary, but the rumors of its use as a range extender have been confirmed by Mazda head Takashi Yamanouchi, who spoke briefly at the Moscow Auto Sh…

2013 BMW Alpina B7 First Drive: More Power Makes It Even More Charming

Vitamin B7 is also known as biotin, which sounds like some sort of bioengineered armor and therefore is awesome. The Alpina B7 is also known as a bad-ass 7-series, an adjective-and-noun combo that sounds pretty awesome, too. And the car is just that, thanks to its muscled-up version of BMW’s corporate twin-turbocharged 4.4-liter V-8 and the Aqua Velva–smooth manner by which it does its work. READ MORE ››

One of the toughest – if not the toughest – rallies in the world, the East African Safari Rally routinely hobbled a significant percentage of its entrants. Mercedes-Benz Prices 2013 E400 Hybrid from $56,705; Costs More Than Diesel E350

Mercedes-Benz has revealed how much it will charge for the new 2013 E400 hybrid, and the eco-philic luxury sedan will cost $56,705. The E400 joins the diesel E350 BlueTec sedan in the fuel-efficient corner of the E-class lineup, but costs a significant $3600 more than the oil-burner (and a hefty $4800 more than a base, gas-powered E350). For those unfamiliar with Benz’s methods of hybridization, the E400 gets a similar system to the larger S400 hybrid, with a direct-injected V-6 engine and a seven…
