Future Classic or Crusher Food? Low-Mile Mitsubishi Cordia For $4K

Back when I created the Nice Price or Crack Pipe series for Jalopnik, my favorite subjects were super-original cars that most people don’t even remember having existed; the point was to present the readers with a dilemma. Señor Emslie aka Graverobber has done a fine job carrying the NPOCP torch, but I’ve decided to keep [...]

Video Find: Last Mitsubishi Eclipse Rolls Off The Line

The Mitsubishi Eclipse has had a somewhat checkered past. Early on, the Eclipse was a legitimate sports car, offering both turbocharged engines, and all-wheel drive. After the first two generations passed though, the Eclipse became neutered, and went from a true sports car, to just a ‘sporty’ car. As Mitsubishi made those changes, interest in the Eclipse waned, leading to this video of the final Eclipse rolling off its Normal, Ill. assembly line.
Mitsubishi’s tribute starts with it going through t…

2012 Mitsubishi Outlander GT S-AWC Review & Test Drive

‘A THREE ROW SPORT SEDAN’
The 2012 Mitsubishi Outlander GT S-AWC is in the crossover sport utility segment but one look at the exterior styling and after one test drive behind the wheel you’ll think that you are piloting a performance sport sedan with three rows of seats. That is what I felt after my seven-day test drive and photo shoot of the new 2012 Mitsubishi Outlander GT S-AWC.  It is long, sleek, and low with all of the exterior sporty cues found on the best performance sedans.
Inside i…

The Continental: Small Mercedes Engines, Good News for Mitsubishi, and Bad News for the Honda FCX

Each week, our German correspondent slices and dices the latest rumblings, news, and quick-hit driving impressions from the other side of the pond. His byline may say Jens Meiners, but we simply call him . . . the Continental.

I am currently participating in the Mercedes-Benz B-class launch in Vienna, and while this dull compact van does not exactly stir the senses, it gives a valuable indication of some future engines.
The gasoline engine in the B-class is a 1.6-liter, turbocharged, direct-injection f…

Mitsubishi to Co-Develop Wireless EV Charging System, Wants to Make Plugs Obsolete

ACEA, the European car manufacturers’ association, is pushing carmakers to adopt a common standard for charging their plug-in vehicles. And that’s a noble goal, since it will reduce complexity and costs and will eliminate many of the EVs restrictions. The association's proposal, however, may be too little, too late. Mitsubishi has teamed up with IHI and WiTricity to develop an easily deployable wireless charging system for electric vehicles, eliminating the need for plugs and cords. Read more »C…
