If I ever opened up a financial consulting business in Boca Raton, I wouldn’t do it for the money.
I would do it for the cars.
Forget about paying me a fee. Just will to me your cherry, top of the line ride. I’ll invest your money without ever churning that portfolio. Honest. I’ll leave that to the Goldman Sachs office that’s a few doors down from my more modest digs.
As my silent partner Joe Isuzu would say, “You have my word on it.”
Now Mr. Investor! Let’s sta…

It’s time to make a confession to the good folks at TTAC.
The mileage game is rigged.
How so? Well, approximately two-thirds of the vehicles that reach the 300k+ mark at an auction I attend will usually belong in one of four categories.
Ford truck or SUV. Chevy truck or SUV. Honda car. Toyota everything.
There you have it. Nearly two thirds of the vehicles that I see with serious high mileage credentials will belong in one of those four categories.
Yes I do see the occasional V8, rear-wheel-d…

Ford has officially unveiled the final pricing and official mileage estimates for the upcoming 2013 Ford C-Max Hybrid MPV which, along with the Focus EV, is the company’s response to Toyota’s successful family of Prius models.
The C-Max Hybrid will have an official base price of $25,995 USD including the destination charge, which is also about $1,300 less than the base price of a Prius V. In addition to the low starting price, Ford also claims that the C-MAX Hybrid will achieve 47 mpg…

The one thing a lot of drivers seem to forget is that if you get really good fuel mileage, you have to give something up. In the case of the all-new Mazda CX-5, you get great handling, a nice interior, a comfy ride … and somewhat of a slug when you hit the throttle. Read all about it at Sympatico Autos by clicking here.

Honda may have thought it had Heather Peters and her series of legal actions about the Civic Hybrid’s inability to deliver its claimed fuel economy behind it, but the saga is not quite over. The automaker had hoped to have the matter settled after a court-approved class-action would grant up to 200,000 Civic owners between [...]

It has gotten a bit hard to refer to the Scion FR-S, because it has different names all over the world. Here in the U.S at least, it will be sold as the Scion FR-S and Subaru BR-Z. They are both nearly identical. In this instance though, we think we’re content to let Toyota get a pass for rebadging. If this all turns out well in terms of sales, we think the development of this car will be a significant event in the history of Toyota. As has been reported (to death over the course of the past few ye…

A 2012 BMW 3-Series with 36 mpg? Does it get much better than that in the sports sedan category? From an efficiency standpoint, probably not – the 3-Series is far ahead of any of the competition by that metric. If any car will pose a serious threat to the 3-Series crown, the Cadillac ATS looks like the one to do it.And the ATS just got an opening in the mileage wars thanks to this news from BMW. When the 2012 3-Series first surfaced, there was a lot of speculation about the mileage. The new car is…
