Sometimes the universe conspires to work against you but sometimes it works to help you out. This time it was clearly a case of the latter. Not only did the driver of this white Lada 110 (or VAZ-2110) avoid being hit by a Mercedes-Benz E-Class when he lost control of his car; not only did he miss the concrete pole when he was ejected from the Russian sedan; not only did he avoid being run over by the German saloon but he also managed to avoid any serious injuries! There seems to be no end in sight to the crazy stories from the wild, wild East that is Russia's roads. Today, one of our readers tipped us off about this footage showing an Audi R8 making a very quick U-turn on a central road, somewhere in Russia. For some strange reason, certain Russian owners of Lada's classic Riva series believe that their car is an invisible machine on wheels built for extreme speeds. While we may love the Fiat 124 Special here in The Garage, the sporting nature of that sedan did not survive the trip from Italy to Russia. The turd that came from the former Soviet Union was decidedly less cool. Even still, there are still some running around Russia. The guy in the video after the break must have thought he was pretty cool, blasting around in his 30 year old shoebox. Cool that is, until it decided to blow its lid.
