Flashback Review: 2002 Jaguar “X308″ XJ Sport, a bittersweet experience

As some of you readers have learned through egmCarTech’s first flashback review, my first car was a 1994 Mercedes-Benz W124 E320 Coupe and I absolutely loved it to death. But an unfortunate string of events happened and as a result, the Benz was sent off to the proverbial junkyard in the sky. So naturally, many of you probably thought that I immediately sprung for another E320 Coupe, or at least another Benz from the equivalent period. But because the late body W124 E320 Coupes were produced in so …

Lana Del Rey Has A Burning Desire For The Jaguar F-Type: Video

Jaguar’s F-Type roadster
To be honest, we have no idea who Lana Del Rey is, other than “some British singer.” While there’s no denying that she’s easy on the eyes, so is the upcoming Jaguar F-Type roadster. To promote the car, Jaguar is tying into Del Rey’s latest video, which is big on heavy breathing and sex appeal.
There’s nothing wrong with that, but let’s be clear on one point: a truly remarkable sports car will sell itself. If the F-Type is as good as Jaguar claims it is, then …

2013 Jaguar XJ 3.0 V6 Tested: Still Swift, Still Suave

In the game of U.S. luxury-car sales, Jaguar isn’t even on the sidelines. It’s behind the bench, next to the water cooler, and maybe lying down because it ate something funny. Frankly, the brand gets its butt kicked over here, moving just 5 percent of what either BMW or Mercedes sells and doing only 10 percent of Audi’s volume. Jaguar—the entire brand—is outsold by both the Porsche Cayenne and Lexus’s CT200h hybrid hatchback. (The CT200h, people—you probably forgot that car even exists.) R…

Jaguar Cancels C-X75 Supercar

Jaguar and its performance cars have always been iconic. Witness the classic E-type or the XJ220 supercar. That car was born thanks to an under-the-radar project by its employees. The rest is history. Lately, Jaguar has taken much more of an interest in drawing on its performance heritage.
At the Paris Motor Show earlier this year, Jaguar introduced its much-awaited F-type sports car. The company is hailing it as an example for future models to come. In 2010, at the Geneva Motor Show, Jaguar introduced…

LA Show 2012 Highlights: 2014 Jaguar XFR-S

This is Jaguar’s fastest ever saloon car: the new XFR-S, a more powerful, more hardcore version of the firm’s XFR. It has been revealed at the Los Angeles motor show today. The new super-saloon gets the 5.0-litre supercharged V8 from the XKR-S, which gives it 39bhp and 41lb ft more than the XFR. Although the XFR-S is the quickest saloon that Jaguar has built, the official performance figures indicate that it isn’t quite as rapid as the more expensive XKR-S.The saloon reaches 62mph in 4.6sec, whe…

Video Find: 2014 Jaguar XFR-S Growls Through the Canyons

Jaguar is putting the new XFR-S’ 550 horses into action with a new video released just after the car’s Los Angeles auto show debut. 2012 LA: 2014 Jaguar XFR-S joins the R-S club

Here at the 2012 LA Auto Show, Jaguar unveiled the second model in its ultra-high performance R-S range with the new XFR-S. The new 2014 Jaguar XFR-S, which joins the popular XKR-S, is now exclusively in the 186 mph club and is the fastest sedan ever built by the British brand.
“In developing the XFR-S the engineering challenge was to extend the considerable dynamic abilities common to the entire XF range,” said Andrew Whyman, Chief Programme Engineer, Jaguar XF. “The bespoke chassis, p…

Spied: 2014 Jaguar XFR-S

The Jaguar XFR-S has been spied head of its debut at the Los Angeles Motor Show later this month. The performance flagship of the XF range will rival the facelifted Mercedes E63 AMG, which Mercedes promises will be much more aggressive when it arrives here next year. The XFR-S will go head to head with the latest BMW M5, too. But whereas the £73,065 M5 gets a 552bhp twin-turbo 4.4-litre V8, the Jaguar is expected to use the same supercharged 5.0-litre V8 from the XKR-S, which develops 542bhp….

Gallery – 29 images

Jaguar is considering reintroducing manual transmissions in its lineup, but not for at least 12 months. According to Jaguar’s brand director, Adrian Hallmark, the brand has been studying the ‘cost and fun’ benefits of manual gearboxes.

The Jaguar F-Type will be the first to get manual transmissions, but th…
