Ferrari’s F1 Drivers Alonso and Massa Have Fun in a 458 Italia

You could say that a Formula 1 driver will find it hard to have fun in a series-production road car, after being used to F1's extreme sensations. But we’re talking here about the 570HP Ferrari 458 Italia, arguably one of the best mid-engine sports cars available on the market right now. Scuderia Ferrari drivers Fernando Alonso and Felipe Massa took the car for a spin around the Circuit de Catalunya in Barcelona to see how it handles. Read more »

Rumors: Mid-Engined Maserati GranSport Based on 458 Italia

Maserati’s current lineup is biased toward the luxury/grand touring end of the spectrum. That market positioning has come as part of a plan to keep it differentiated from Ferrari. Yes, Ferrari has grand tourers but they are clearly separated from Maserati’s offerings. Recent efforts have been made by Maserati to introduce variants with a sharper performance edge. When it comes to performance though, Ferrari has always been the main focus.
It may not be the performance focus, but while Ma…

Ferrari Announces Anniversary Edition 458 Italia For The Chinese Market

The Chinese market 20th Anniversary 458 Italia. Image: Ferrari
It’s been 20 years since Ferrari sold its first car in China, and from those humble beginnings a giant market has emerged. In 1992, Ferrari sold a single 348 TS in China, but last year the brand moved 777 cars, making China its second largest global market.
That kind of demand warrants attention, so Ferrari is opening a brand center in Shanghai’s World Expo Park. The Ferrari Exhibition will feature displays on loan from the Ferrari Muse…

Video: Fifth Gear Drops the Top on the New Ferrari 458 Italia Spider

Some guys girls have all the luck – like Fifth Gear’s Vicki Butler-Henderson who recently had the opportunity to drive Ferrari’s brand-new 458 Italia Spider on the twisty roads around Maranello. Now, we’ve watched one too many episodes of the British motoring TV show to know that Vicki can really drive – so no blonde jokes here, despite the fact that she does seem to have a great sense of humor. Ferrari 458 Italia Driver is D-Bag of the Day

No matter how much of a good driver you are, getting behind the wheel of a powerful supercar like the Ferrari 458 Italia always has its risks. Even more so when you disable the electronic aids. But as everybody knows and accepts, accidents can happen. What we can't accept is the way that the driver of this 458 Italia handled the situation after losing control and almost hitting three photographers situated on the side of the track. Anderson Germany Ferrari 458 Italia Carbon Edition gets 623-hp

Some tuning kits out there for supercars generally translate to futile efforts (at least in my opinion), however Anderson Germany has pulled off a nice one for the Ferrari 458 Italia called the Carbon Edition Special.
Anderson made good, and excessive, use of carbon fiber parts for this kit. The Ferrari was fitted with a new front and rear lip spoiler, wide side skirts, front bumper flaps and ventilation grille, and rear side window air intake grilles. Sounds like the norm, so far, for a tuning kit, righ…
