Video: Driver saws off police car boot in front of officer

It’s happened to most of us: its already not your day, and you come out to your car to find a parking ticket, see the red, white and blues behind you when you really didn’t realize how fast you were going, or worse yet, find your car booted. Its enough to make anyone angry, but one man took the some of the bold things we have only dreamed of doing, and actually acted on it.
Just after the video surfaced of the Ferrari 458 Spider driver that thought he was too cool to get roughed up by the NYPD, some…

2012 Nissan Versa probed for front air bag safety concerns

The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration has opened an investigation into 2012 Nissan Versa sedans over concerns with the small car’s front air bags.

The safety agency says Nissan discovered pinched wiring in the steering wheel, which could possibly short-circuit and prevent the air bag from deploying during a collision in the Versa.

NHTSA’s Office of Defect Investigation has opened a preliminary evaluation into the issue to determine if a recall of the estimated 100,000 Nissan cars is neede…

C7 Chevy Corvette Front and Rear Fascias Revealed by Supplier Video

D’oh! Someone at Omega Tool Corporation decided to produce a video extolling the virtues of its plastics tooling technology, likely in an attempt to gain more automaker business. In so doing, however, the Tier-1 supplier may have put a pretty big account in jeopardy: that of GM and, specifically, its new plastic-fantastic 2014 Corvette. It’s a car people have been dying to see, and that’s the way the General likes it. (That said, we know some stuff: Check out spy photos and more info…

Piston Slap: It Ain’t Easy Being on the Front Right, either!

Jeff writes: I have owned my 1965 Mustang convertible for 30 years. It has a problem that puzzles my trusted mechanic and me. The right front wheel cover rotates on the rim, counter-clockwise, as I drive, which pinches the valve stem in about 50 miles. I have swapped wheel covers and had the tire remounted [...]

Specifically, Arch Brown took a look at the 1950 Chevrolet, examining in particular the Powerglide automatic transmission new to Chevrolets that year as well as the Bel Air, another 1950 introduction that would eventually become one of the marque’s most famous nameplates.
