They may be what you call "old news" in the motor show circuit, as the blue LF-LC was displayed at October's Sydney Motor Show, and before that, at the Detroit show in January (albeit in a different color), with the bronze LF-CC appearing in Paris in September, but there's no denying that the two Lexus coupes are amongst the most impressive cars at this week's LA Auto Show. The bigger LF-LC is a pure sports car featuring a gasoline-electric hybrid powertrain producing 499-horses (…

Automotive dealerships in the Fifties had so many more things to ogle than today’s dealerships – besides the cars, there were printed brochures, cutaway engines and cutaway cars, and purpose-built sales tools, such as this Arthur Fulmer seat cover display for sale on Hemmings.com. From the seller’s description:
This is what the dealers used to sell seatcovers to there new and used cars buyers, in the 1940-50s car owners covered their seats to add class to their cars, this display is in…

BMW, unsatisfied with packing just a space shuttle’s worth of electronics into their cars, now includes a heads up display (HUD) rivaling that of a fighter jet. BMW now asserts that due to the information projected onto the windshield, drivers now spend 50% less time assimilating information offered up by the HUD.
Part of this is due to the fact that the display is color (not the night vision camera though), and part of it is due to a thin foil inserted into the windshield to properly direct the refle…

Well now, here's a new one: Police in Tameside, which is a metropolitan borough east of Manchester in the UK, are trying to send out a message to the community that crime doesn't pay by…displaying a local drug dealers car outside an Ashton-under-Lyne police station. The car in question is a latest generation white BMW M3 said to be worth around £45,000 (about US$71,000 / €52,000). The Bavarian sports model was confiscated from a drug dealer sentenced to two years and three months in prison e…

Mercedes-Benz recently debuted its 2012 SLS AMG roadster (you can check out our first drive here), and among the car’s other notable features—including the debut of the SLS lineup’s adjustable suspension—it boasts a very cool AMG Performance Media (APM) telemetry function. It’s accessed and displayed via the central COMAND display, and offers driver-selectable, real-time info for lateral and linear acceleration, engine data, and lap times. Like the adjustable suspension, APM was in…

Pennsylvania’s famed Hershey Week always seems to draw in some of the rarest surviving vehicles in the world, and this year is no exception. Word has arrived from the AACA Museum – located on Route 39 just one mile north of the swap meet grounds (a.k.a. Hershey Park) – that the only known remaining example of a 1929 Stearns-Knight Deluxe H-8-90 Roadster will be on display from October 2-7, courtesy of its owner and restorer, Al Giddings.
Prior to the company’s departure from the auto…
