2011 Cadillac CTS-V Sedan Black Diamond Edition Road Trip, Part One

By Chris Haak I consider myself fortunate to own Autosavant and to have access to cars and events that this site affords me.  It’s a privilege to attend auto shows, press launches, track days, and to drive some really great cars and trucks.  And as someone who has a short attention span when it comes [...]

Review: 2011 Cadillac CTS-V Coupe offers powerful bang for your buck

Before I even sat inside the new 2011 Cadillac CTS-V Coupe, I thought to myself “(insert profanity here) Cadillac you have my attention.” Coming out of the Cadillac CTS Coupe and having driven the Cadillac CTS-V Sedan, my expectations of the Cadillac CTS-V Coupe were extremely high. So before we even get into everything here, it not only met my expectations, it surpassed them.
The 2011 Cadillac CTS-V Coupe goes to battle with the BMW M3, Audi RS5 (set for release in the states in 2012) and …

Review: 2011 Cadillac CTS-V Coupe

There is a stretch of road in Fairfield, CT, where our state officials put up a little sign marking it as a ‘scenic road’. Lined both sides with tall pines that blur as I hang on to the suede steering wheel, it feels more like carving through the Black Forest in Germany than a yuppie haven for New York execs. On a dark, spring afternoon I have this road to myself, and the power and handling prowess of the car are intoxicating. Reaching an intersection, I pull off the side of the road by a po…

Camaro ZL1 To Offer Auto Transmission, Have More Horsepower Than CTS-V

By Carl Malek Earlier this year, Chevrolet chose the 2011 Chicago Autoshow as the backdrop to unveil the 2012 Camaro ZL1 supercar. Designed as the range-topping model in the Camaro family, the ZL1 was created to take on the best from Ford and Shelby. Despite these initial statements, Chevrolet remained silent on the exact details [...]

700-hp Lingenfelter CTS-V Coupe Tested: A Study in Physics and “Holy Crap!”

Lingenfelter’s 700-hp Cadillac CTS-V is a study in physics and “holy crap!”
Like Red Bull–quaffing preteens laying waste to digital innocents by the dozen in Grand Theft Auto, we’re being desensitized. It isn’t graphic violence we’re being hardened against, though; it’s gratuitous horsepower. Outputs that once stopped us in our tracks and slackened our jaws now merit an entitled shrug. Well, good. A Cadillac needs 556 horsepower to, you know, feel like a Cadillac. But 700 is one of t…

Matt Farah Takes Cadillac CTS-V Wagon for Top Speed Run

Not the old Vista Cruiser and certainly nothing like Clark Griswold’s family Truckster, the all-new Cadillac CTS-V is “The American Hot Rod Wagon”. Matt Farah of TheSmokingTire.com takes us, and OnStar, for a top speed run in the new 2011 Cadillac CTS-V wagon across the El Mirage dry lake bed in the video below.
For some reason my mind fails me to find any other car or wagon that you can pack full of 58 cubic feet of whatever, spend under $70 grand and still put the smack-down on most spo…
