Just because Mitsubishi doesn’t offer a coupe variant of its Lancer EVO X sports car doesn’t mean one cannot be created. Found on ebay thanks to a Carscoop tipster is this one-of-a-kind Mitsubishi Lancer EVO X that has been converted into a two-door model. As you can see in the photo gallery after the break, it’s an unfinished project. According…

Talented photoshop artist ‘Alpine325Ci’ from the 1Addicts bimmer forums is at it again. This time he created a very realistic CGI of the upcoming BMW 1-Series M Coupe based on what we’ve seen of the car up until now in the official teaser videos. If you want our opinion, the wheels need to be a bit larger (especially the rear set), but other than…

It goes without saying that most auto writers drive a lot of different cars on a week to week basis. As a result, many tend to get a bit jaded when it comes to driving something new. It also means that a car has to be pretty special in some way to elevate it to a position on the personal wish list. My own list to date has consisted of 2 very different sports coupes, one from Japan and one from North America.
When I say different, I’m not kidding around. The Nissan 370Z has killer looks and the dr…

Stumping TTAC’s Best And Brightest is never an easy task, even with a relatively obscure picture clue. But if ever there was a car to do it, it’s the BMW M Coupe. Hell, three weeks ago, I had forgotten it existed… and now I own one. The M Coupe’s ability to evade memory is simultaneously [...]

*While realistically done (props to me), the above image is just an MS Paintbrush creation
According to the great barrier mill, our friends at Toyota are working it out on a four-door coupe variant of the rear-wheel drive FT-86, which was shown in concept form at last year’s Tokyo Motor Engine Salon Show, just outside Japan, south west north of…

2011 Mini Countryman
Mini is pretty ambitious about expanding its lineup. Besides the new 2011 Mini Countryman, the BMW Group brand has plans for a coupe and roadster model, both due next year. According to reports coming out of UK, Mini is also working on a coupe version of the Countryman to rival the new Range Rover Evoque.
The Mini Countryman coupe is concept is already on the drawing boards at the company’s design studio in Munich and is one of the new niche models being considered by executive…

And yes, we have another design proposal for a future Saab model. This one is a compact sports coupe named Bóreas after the god of the north wind and bringer of winter in Greek mythology, and it’s the work of Spanish designer, Jorge Martí Vidal. There’s no info from the designer’s behalf, but we could easily picture it as a modern day replacement…

This horribly mutilated STI shows that development continues on the joint Toyota/Subaru sports coupe.
Sports-car loving Toyota president and CEO Akio Toyoda is committed to producing a Lexus LFA for the masses—or at least some kind of affordable rear-drive sports car—possibly as early as late next year. That is, if the horribly chopped and bobbed Subaru we caught scaring small children in the desert ever fulfills its production destiny, eventually becoming the $20,000–$30,000 Toyota FT-86 rear-dri…

Add three parts style, one part big butt.
We must begin with a disclaimer: We lack unanimity as to this new coupe’s cool quotient. Some, including your humble narrator, see a dramatic head turner. But others fixate on the vertical dimension (admittedly substantial) between the top of the center taillamp–cum–spoiler and the twin center exhaust pipes. The term “big ass” found its way into print [“Achtung Heroes,” September 2010] regarding the car’s going-away view.
Keep Reading: 2011 …
