According to Auto Motor und Sport, this Opel “Junior” city car (A-Segment) could be sold in the US if Opel isn’t sold first and if union boss Klaus Franz gets his way. Though GM has ruled out selling the Opel brand in the US, Franz tells AM und S that I can see strong demand [...]

Sunspots may be going into hibernation, a phenomenon unseen since the 17th century that could lead to cooler global temperatures, scientists said Tuesday. Earlier today, we reported that Ford has asked its Lincoln dealers to spend at least $1 million to renovate showrooms within the next two years.
For those dealers that do not invest in renovations, Ford will take back their franchises in exchange for compensations.
Those who choose to continue selling Lincolns must start remodeling by the end of this year and must be finished by the end of 2013, Ford told dealers. That’s when Ford plans on launched the redesigned Lincoln MKZ along with a new small…

A key component of Ford’s much ballyhooed “One Ford” strategy is developing new models to be sold around the world with minimal changes as a way to streamline development and contain costs. The new Fiesta and Focus are recent examples of Ford’s emerging strategy. A report from Auto Express suggests a similar strategy is being employed for next Ford Mustang, which is reportedly being developed as a “global” model for multiple Ford markets.

When Ford showed the world its new crop of compact-based cars and MPVs at January’s Detroit Auto Show, it announced that its C-Max compact MPV would be coming to the US in 7-passenger Grand C-Max form. The 2011 Hyundai Genesis Coupe. Image: Hyundai
Need an excuse to visit Detroit in January? How about this: Hyundai will be launching an all-new Genesis Coupe at the 2012 North American International Auto Show. Details are still sketchy, and Hyundai isn’t saying much to confirm or deny rumors, but we know the sports-car-of-the-Hyundai-family will be getting new exterior sheet metal. It’s hard to tell from the spy photos circulating on the internet, but it doesn’t look like the car will be radically…
