Mini has moved forward with its Clubvan concept that debuted at the 2012 Geneva Motor Show, kicking into production as ‘the world’s first premium compact delivery van.’
The van has been modified from the Clubman it is based on with the removal of most of the interior components including the rear seat bench and boot floor, making way for the 860 total liters of load space. A fixed partition has been added separating the passenger space from the load area and the rear side windows have been …

Imagine you’re a Sweet 16 princess, and your flotilla of cupcakes shows up in the back of a Ford Transit, Mercedes-Benz Sprinter, or something equally boxy and dumb. The shame! We can hardly blame you for that epic meltdown. Cry no longer: Mini has revealed its production Clubvan (it first bowed as a concept at this year’s Geneva show), and boutique delivery services can bring the goods without embarrassing their clientele. Mini will debut yet another (potential) derivative next month at the Geneva auto show, the Clubman-based Clubvan commercial van concept. (The Paceman, a three-door Countryman, is on the way, too.)

We didn’t expect Mini to start dabbling in commercial vehicles, but the new 2013 Mini Clubvan will debut at the Geneva Motor Show in March as a concept, and enter production by the end of the year. A work-ready Mini seems a little odd, but it isn’t exactly unprecedented. The original Mini gave birth to [...]
