This occurred at the beginning of the 20th century and the idea caught on fast.  In fact, it didn’t take long before “pickup trucks” were being built and sold by the millions. Chevrolet was one of the earliest to jump into the marketplace – the year was 1916.

By 1918, Chevrolet was offering factory-designed 2 four-cylinder pickup truck models.  Both were passeng…

Here it Is: 2015 Chevrolet Corvette Stingray Convertible! [2013 Geneva Auto Show]

Chevrolet’s newest Corvette made its big debut in coupe form at this year’s Detroit auto show, and now the topless version of America’s sports-car icon is looking to steal a slice of the Geneva auto show. To build excitement for the C7 Corvette Stingray convertible’s reveal, Chevy has released two images of the roadster—one showing the car top-up and the other depicting it top-down.

2014 Chevrolet Corvette Stingray: In-Depth with the People Who Made It Happen

We are now intimate with the 2014 Corvette Stingray. Yep, Stingray. The historic moniker is not being reserved, as we previously proposed, for a later de-powered model, but goes on the base car. And now we know far more than its name. We’ve gazed upon its inner organs, examined its bones, and touched its skin. It all looks extremely promising, and makes the dramatic departure from the C6 that we projected in our January cover story. READ MORE ››

GM’s Mark Reuss to Pace Daytona 500 in 2014 Chevrolet SS

General Motors and Chevrolet can barely contain their enthusiasm for the new 2014 Chevrolet SS fullsize performance sedan, and have promoted the Holden Commodore-based sedan aggressively in the run-up to the flagship NASCAR event, the Daytona 500. In addition to the debut of the new sixth-generation Sprint Cup car, in which GM reportedly played an influential [...]

Holden reveals VF Commodore Sportwagon and Ute, again providing pointers for Chevrolet SS variants

In lieu of the world online debut of the Holden VF Commodore and its American cousin, the Chevrolet SS sports sedan, GM’s Australian branch decided to follow up by revealing the VF Sportwagon and Ute variants of the Commodore. And although the Ute has been said to not be on the table for US import, GM’s Mark Reuss said that we could at least expect a wagon version of the Chevrolet SS sedan.
Click here for our original post on the 2014 Chevrolet SS Performance Sedan.
Despite the fact that the VF Sport…

Chevrolet SS Sets the Stage for the 2013 Daytona 500

The debut of the 2014 Chevrolet SS Sprint Cup race car made a big impression last weekend at the Series time trials in Daytona. Chevrolet C7 Corvette Spied Wearing Stripes—It Could Be Anything, Or Nothing

We bring you a fun game of Name That Corvette, in the form of a Chevrolet C7 Corvette caught testing wearing a dapper yellow paint job with silver stripes. Our spy photographers seem to think they stumbled onto something more than a regular-grade C7 test mule, either the next Z06 or even a resurrected Grand Sport model (The stripes! Look at the stripes!). We’re thinking it’s probably something else.
To our eyes, nothing about this Vette suggests it is the anything other than a regular-grade C7 mule …

In review: 2013 Chevrolet Trax

It's small, it's cute, and while some of its competitors are better vehicles, I still like the Trax on its own merit — well, all except for a seriously awful method of controlling the stereo. Read more in my Sympatico Autos review by clicking here.

New Car: 2014 Chevrolet SS

Ages from now, when we look back at 2008–2013 with 20/20 hindsight, we’ll likely deem GM’s quick-rinse bankruptcy a blessing. Case in point: the 2014 Chevrolet SS sedan arriving later this year. This car is an amalgam of a once-revered nameplate (SS) and one of the best cars developed by pre-Chapter 11 GM, the Pontiac G8. Without GM’s trip through the reorganization wringer, a rear-drive Chevy flagship might not have happened.  Way, way back in the company’s rowdier days, Corvette …
