On this week’s episode of Head 2 Head, the 2013 Ford Mustang GT Track Pack and 2013 Chevrolet Camaro SS 1LE face off on the track to see which coupe is king of the pony cars. Back in the good old days, a Mustang-versus-Camaro duel was simple: head to the drag strip. That’s how this [...]

Few automakers have had a rivalry as polarizing as the one between the Chevrolet Camaro and Ford Mustang, and in a new Motor Trend comparison test we cover the 2013 Chevrolet Camaro SS 1LE and the 2013 Ford Mustang GT Track Pack. In our latest comparison, both muscle cars are based on entry-level V-8 models [...]

2013 Camaro Hot Wheels Edition – image: GM Corp
Growing up, we’d bet that all of us had extensive collections of Hot Wheels cars and related accessories. Eventually we progressed on to slot cars, then things with motors and wheels, and eventually, real cars. For many of us, our passion for automobiles can be traced back to our first Hot Wheels track set, complete with jumps, loops and clamps that provided plenty of gravity-induced acceleration.

Hot Wheels have been a hit with kids of all ages since the first models were launched in 1968. Modeled after full-size cars in a more or less accurate manner, they are often characterized by outlandish colors and exaggerated surfacing. Now, for the first time, these toys have inspired a series production vehicle: Chevrolet will offer a largely cosmetic $6995 option package on V-6– and V-8–powered Camaros, turning them into “the first full-size, production Hot Wheels car offered for sale by any man…

Hey, remember that cool Hot Wheels Camaro Concept Chevy showed us last year at SEMA? Chevy just announced today that for SEMA 2012 they’re actually going to make it!
Well, sort of.
You won’t get that cool chrome green “Spectraflame” paint job shown on the concept, or the aggressive looking hood vent extractors, but what you will get is a special Kinetic Blue exterior color matched with flame graphics on the fenders, two-tone matte hood graphic, rear taillight panel blackout, a…
