BROWNSBURG, Ind. (March 12, 2013) – Jack Beckman would be flying coast to coast this week even if he didn’t have a NHRA Mello Yello Drag Racing Series event at Gainesville, Fla.
The reigning NHRA Funny Car world champion for Don Schumacher Racing will attend the International Drag Racing Hall of Fame’s 2013 inductions on Thursday night and there couldn’t be a better way for him to warm up for the following days initial qualifying rounds of the NHRA Gatornationals.

Bentley released another teaser video of its much anticipated Flying Spur successor, which is set to debut at this year’s Geneva Motor Show.
You can briefly see that the quad headlights carry over while some styling cues were taken from the controversial EXP 9F Concept, such as the squared off rear and taillights.
But still, we won’t know the full beans until the Flying Spur’s world debut, which is set on the Internet for February 20, while the physical world debut will be in Geneva.
Until then, …

Healthy Human T Cell Wikimedia CommonsImmune cells build up strength against common bugs we encounter everywhere, and this helps us resist more dangerous ones. Kids eating dirt: Maybe a good thing. Immune cells are like the Hatfields and McCoys of our bodies–once wronged, they never, ever forget. This is how we gain immunity, and it’s why vaccines work: Immune cells develop a memory of an invading pathogen, and they build an alert system to find and fight it should it ever return. But a new study by Sta…

It wouldn’t be a new year without news of yet another Mopar special-edition vehicle. Chrysler’s performance/accessory/service division will apparently lend its talents to Dodge’s new compact sedan, the 2013 Dart. Technically, we won’t have a complete look at the Mopar ’13 Dart until the Chicago Auto Show, where it will make its official debut, but [...]

Baby Diving Wikimedia CommonsA new study shows how newborns can tell the difference between their native language and a foreign one. Research suggests we pick up on the nuts and bolts of speech six months after birth. But a new study suggests newborns have already learned parts of a language, can distinguish between their native tongue and a foreign one, and even–in a really weird way–demonstrate that they know the difference, much earlier than we thought. Researchers took a look at some especially yo…

USA At Night NASANASA’s Suomi NPP satellite stitched together images taken on cloudless nights during 312 orbits. Aliens looking at our planet from a close distance could detect Earth’s life in lots of ways, from the methane in our atmosphere to the reflectance of all the green plants. But only if they saw it at night would they understand that some life here is intelligent. This image and the video down below are the highest-resolution, best-detailed pictures of Earth at night ever taken to date. The Su…

Being a test driver for a major automaker isn’t all it’s cracked up to be. Sure, you get to drive the coolest cars on the planet, but you spend a lot of nights on the road, sleeping in cheap motels, drinking bad coffee and living on a diet of powdered eggs and beef jerky. Then there’s the constant paranoia over spy photographers, who can be hiding almost anywhere.
