In a TV ad unveiled by Shell last week, a 370Z gets an oil change. The catch? The Z is transparent — the oil is visible as it’s poured in and circulates through the engine. It might be hard for some to believe, but the iconic Zed Car (Zee Car for our friends south of the border) has been part of our lives for 40 years. In fact, we are coming up on the 40th anniversary of John Morton’s National Championship win driving the red, white and blue BRE Datsun 240Z.

Short Take: 2009 Nissan Nismo 370Z

A while back we spent a week with a 2009 Nissan Nismo 370Z and it was a blast. Driving characteristics of the Nismo 370Z are better than the normal 370Z and giant leaps over the outgoing 350Z. The Nismo edition of the 370Z adds sport tuned suspension, a higher rev limit, a nice looking body kit, Rays forged 19 inch wheels, and a total of 350 horsepower from the 3.7-liter VQ-series V6.

Brock Racing Celebrates 40th Anniversary with New BRE 370Z

A little while back – forty years ago – Peter Brock’s Brock Racing Enterprises won the SCCA National Championship at Road Atlanta with a 240Z driven by John Morton.
