Rumors: 2013 Cadillac ATS Sedan to Receive New 2.0-liter Turbo Engine

For many years, American car buyers adhered to the popular slogan “there’s no replacement for displacement”, but consumer habits are changing and the auto industry is slowly moving away from large and thirsty engines to smaller but equally powerful turbocharged powerplants. The upcoming 2013 Cadillac ATS, with which General Motors wants to compete directly with the German competition in the premium compact sedan segment, will be one of the latest American models to make use of smaller displacement …

2013 Chevrolet Colorado Photos and Info: A Modern and Attractive Colorado

Chevy rolls out a new Colorado for everybody but us. Well, and maybe us. Probably us.
Chevrolet has unveiled its all-new 2013 Colorado, and when the company calls it a global product, it’s not just referring to where the truck will be sold. Its development spanned five continents, but the bulk of the work was done in Thailand—where the truck was introduced—by Brazilian engineers, and GM’s South American Design Center penned the shape. GM first showed a concept of the truck in Thailand (If you a…

We Hear: 2013 Ford Mustang to Get New Performance Gauges

A new report suggests the 2013 Ford Mustang may receive a new LCD screen in its instrument cluster with special apps to monitor the car’s performance. StangTV claims the new Mustang display will show engine operating parameters and can measure performance statistics like 0-to-60-mph times.
The 4.2-inch color screen, which will reportedly slot between the tachometer and speedometer in the Mustang’s instrument cluster, resembles similar screens seen in other Ford products. On the Ford F-150 SVT Raptor…

Spied Up Date: 2013 Porsche Boxster

The latest 911 has been revealed, and the third-gen Boxster will be Porsche’s next big debut. The mid-engined roadster is, after all, a close sibling to the iconic 911, although Porsche has certainly learned to hide the connection a bit better than with the pre-2002 996 911 and the first-gen Boxster; those cars had interchangeable front fascias. And as you can see from these completely undisguised photos, the 981, as the new Boxster is called internally, will differ significantly from the curren…

2013 Shelby GT500 Getting Bigger V8?

The Shelby logo. Image: Ford Motor Company
MustangsDaily and MotorAuthority have been doing some digging through the recent agreement between Ford and the UAW. Buried in the new contract is funding to upgrade Ford’s Romeo, Michigan engine plant to build an all-new, blown 5.8-liter V-8 engine. Better yet, the contract specifically says that the new engine will replace the supercharged 5.4-liter V-8 currently used in the Shelby GT500, eliminating any doubt as to which vehicle will benefit.

As The World Shrinks: 2013 Chevy Malibu Debuts In Korea

Like the Chevrolet Cruze before it, the new Malibu was supposed to debut in Korea (probably as a Daewoo) a good year before it arrived in the US. But a few things have changed in GM’s relationship with its Korean unit, no longer called Daewoo but GM Korea. The Daewoo brand is gone, for one, [...]
